Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and minutes
- Oversee municipal elections, including voter registration and ballot processing
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with ORS 192
- Manage city council agendas, documentation, and meeting logistics
- Coordinate with county and state election authorities
- Develop records retention policies and digital archiving systems
- Serve as clerk to the Portland Charter Commission
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration or related field
- 5+ years municipal government experience with records management
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Oregon election laws and public records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills
- Experience managing municipal elections processes
