Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, and council minutes in compliance with Texas state statutes
- Administer municipal elections, voter registration, and certification processes
- Coordinate City Council meetings, prepare agendas, and maintain procedural documentation
- Oversee public records requests and ensure transparent information accessibility
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official municipal documents
- Manage clerk department budget and personnel supervision
- Implement digital record management systems for enhanced accessibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government experience with 2+ in clerk roles
- TCM (Texas Certified Municipal Clerk) or CAM (Certified Municipal Clerk) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Texas Local Government Code and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in municipal software (e.g., Tyler Munis, CivicPlus)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication and public interaction skills
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Valid Texas driver's license
