Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and safeguard all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee municipal elections including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling place coordination
- Administer oaths of office, issue permits/licenses, and serve as the city's notary public
- Prepare and publish public notices, legal advertisements, and administrative documents
- Coordinate city council meetings, agendas, and public hearing logistics
- Respond to public records requests ensuring compliance with Sunshine Law requirements
- Develop and implement records management policies and retention schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in municipal government, records management, or public sector administration
- Proficiency with records management systems and document automation software
- Deep knowledge of Missouri Sunshine Law and municipal record-keeping regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for legal documents
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex procedures
- Valid Missouri driver's license and ability to work occasional evenings/weekends
