Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and accessibility of official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Manage city council agendas, public hearings, and legislative documentation
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Facilitate document certification, notarization, and municipal licensing
- Develop records management systems and retention policies
- Act as primary liaison between citizens and municipal governance bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- Expertise in North Carolina public records and open meetings laws
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Notary public certification preferred
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Experience with municipal software (e.g., CivicPlus, Tyler Technologies)
