The City of San Antonio is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented City Clerk to join our dynamic Office of the City Clerk. As the custodian of the city's official records, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining transparency, preserving history, and ensuring the smooth operation of municipal governance.

Responsibilities
- Record Management: Manage, organize, and preserve official city records, including ordinances, resolutions, meeting minutes, and contracts in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Meeting Administration: Coordinate and prepare agendas, packets, and minutes for the City Council and various boards and commissions; ensure accurate and timely distribution.
- Public Information: Handle Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Election Support: Assist in the administration of local elections, including voter registration, candidate filings, and election day operations.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors and callers, providing exceptional service and directing them to appropriate departments.
- Compliance: Ensure all clerical processes adhere to city policies, municipal codes, and administrative procedures.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or Paralegal Studies is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a government or municipal setting is strongly desired.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems (e.g., Documentum, SharePoint) is required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for accuracy in high-stakes documentation.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations, including elected officials and the general public.
- Integrity: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
