Responsibilities
- Maintain and certify official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with FOIA regulations
- Oversee city elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare agendas and minutes for municipal council meetings
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services
- Coordinate interdepartmental record-keeping protocols
- Lead digital records modernization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expert knowledge of DC municipal codes and regulatory frameworks
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Valid DC Notary Public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience managing public records requests
- Professional certification in Records Management (CRM preferred)
