The City of Seattle is seeking a dynamic City Clerk to join our municipal leadership team immediately. Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, documents, and archives with precision and security
- Oversee legislative processes including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and council documentation
- Administer oaths, affirmations, and public record requests in compliance with RCW and municipal codes
- Coordinate municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot initiatives
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official records
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and department heads
- Ensure compliance with Washington State Public Records Act (RCW 42.56)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expertise in Washington State open records laws and municipal procedures
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid Washington State driver's license
