Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Manage municipal elections and voter registration compliance per Indiana law
- Oversee public records requests and FOIA responses within statutory deadlines
- Prepare and certify legislative documents for City Council approval
- Administer oaths of office and serve as notary public for official documents
- Coordinate with legal counsel on compliance with state/local regulations
- Lead records management digitization and archival initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Indiana Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expert knowledge of Indiana's Open Door Law and election procedures
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean record
