Responsibilities
- Oversee all official city records management, including ordinances, resolutions, and vital documents
- Manage City Council meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and compliance tracking
- Administer public records requests with prompt, transparent responses within legal frameworks
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot preparation processes
- Lead digital transformation of records systems while ensuring archival integrity
- Manage business licensing, permits, and municipal licensing operations
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and city government for administrative matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector administrative experience
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and municipal software
- Deep knowledge of Illinois open records laws and municipal governance regulations
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Proven project management experience implementing administrative system upgrades
- Illinois notary public commission or ability to obtain within 90 days
