Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and accessibility of all municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Manage city council agendas, public hearings, and legislative documentation
- Administer oaths of office and public notarization services
- Develop and implement digital record-keeping systems for enhanced transparency
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Serve as primary liaison between public officials and constituents
- Ensure compliance with District of Columbia Sunshine Act requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in municipal government or public records management
- Advanced certification in Records Management (CRM) or Municipal Clerk (CMC)
- Expert knowledge of DC municipal code and Sunshine Act regulations
- Proficiency with digital document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with utmost discretion
- Valid DC government security clearance
