Responsibilities
- Serve as custodian of official city records, documents, and archives
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Oversee public records requests and compliance with open meeting laws
- Manage city clerk's office operations and supervise staff
- Coordinate with city council, mayor's office, and state agencies
- Prepare official documents including ordinances, bylaws, and proclamations
- Implement digital records management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expertise in Massachusetts election law and public records regulations
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage high-volume public-facing operations
