Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and preservation of all city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Prepare agendas, minutes, and official documentation for City Council meetings
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for municipal transactions
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Coordinate municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Supervise records management systems and implement retention policies
- Act as primary liaison between citizens and municipal government
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of Tennessee open records laws and Sunshine Law
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
