Responsibilities
- Maintain and certify official city records, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Oversee city elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare and distribute City Council meeting agendas and minutes
- Administer oaths of office and document notarizations
- Coordinate municipal records management and retention policies
- Serve as filing officer for local legislation and legal documents
- Advise City Council on procedural matters and parliamentary law
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal government or records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk credential (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and open meeting laws
- Advanced proficiency with municipal record-keeping systems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Experience overseeing election processes or voter registration
