Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, and council minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with open meeting laws
- Oversee election processes and voter registration initiatives
- Manage municipal code updates and legislative tracking systems
- Coordinate public hearings and community outreach programs
- Serve as clerk for City Council meetings and prepare official agendas
- Train staff on records management protocols and legislative procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Expertise in Robert's Rules of Order and parliamentary procedure
- Advanced proficiency in records management software and document imaging systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with public-facing experience
- Ability to handle sensitive information with strict confidentiality
- Knowledge of California Public Records Act and Brown Act requirements
