Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, ordinances, and council minutes with precision
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot processes
- Administer public records requests and ensure compliance with Brown Act regulations
- Coordinate with city council on agenda preparation, meeting logistics, and legislative tracking
- Lead records digitization initiatives and document management system upgrades
- Serve as custodian of city seal and official documents
- Provide expert guidance to departments on records retention policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of California election laws and public records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error record-keeping standards
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity
