Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, minutes, and resolutions
- Oversee municipal election administration including voter registration and polling operations
- Process public records requests with strict adherence to open meeting laws
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for city officials
- Coordinate Common Council meetings, agenda preparation, and legislative tracking
- Manage the city's record-keeping systems and document retention policies
- Supervise Clerk's Office staff and ensure efficient administrative workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Deep knowledge of Wisconsin election laws and open records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional communication skills for public-facing interactions
- Demonstrated leadership in team supervision and process optimization
