Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate recording and maintenance of all city council minutes, ordinances, and resolutions
- Manage public records requests with exceptional efficiency and compliance
- Coordinate municipal elections including voter registration and polling logistics
- Administer oaths of office and notarization for official documents
- Develop and implement records management systems ensuring document retention protocols
- Serve as primary liaison between public officials and constituents regarding municipal procedures
- Lead digital transformation of archival systems to enhance accessibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or clerk experience
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of Tennessee open records laws and Sunshine Act
- Advanced proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance for legal documents
- Proven ability to manage complex public records requests within legal deadlines
