Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official municipal records, ordinances, and meeting minutes with meticulous attention to legal compliance
- Oversee city elections and voter registration processes, ensuring accessibility and integrity
- Coordinate public records requests while balancing transparency with confidentiality requirements
- Administer oaths of office and notarial services for municipal officials and residents
- Develop and implement records management systems for long-term preservation and accessibility
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments, elected officials, and the public
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for city council meetings and public hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field required
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public records management experience
- Deep knowledge of Indiana open records laws (IC 5-14) and election procedures
- Proven expertise in document management systems and digital archiving solutions
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to serve diverse stakeholders
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Municipal Clerk or CRM) preferred
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite and records management software
