Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and digitize all official city records including ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee the publication of legal notices and administer the city's record retention policies
- Lead public records request fulfillment and ensure compliance with Illinois Freedom of Information Act
- Coordinate with City Council and mayoral office for legislative documentation processes
- Develop and implement digital archiving solutions to enhance public accessibility
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official municipal seals and certifications
- Supervise records management staff and cross-departmental record coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal records management or government administration
- Expert knowledge of Illinois Sunshine Act and FOIA regulations
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Proven experience leading digital transformation projects in public sector
- Illinois Notary Public certification required
