Responsibilities
- Maintain official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Administer oaths of office and provide notary public services
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Prepare City Council agendas, packets, and post-meeting documentation
- Coordinate with city departments and public officials on record-keeping protocols
- Implement records retention and digitization initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and Brown Act compliance
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
