Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all official city records including ordinances, resolutions, and council minutes
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and public information requests
- Act as custodian of the city seal and serve as clerk to the city council
- Coordinate public hearings, document retention, and legislative compliance
- Administer oaths, licenses, and official documentation
- Develop and implement records management systems
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal departments
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years municipal government or public sector experience
- Expert knowledge of Illinois election law and municipal regulations
- Proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Illinois Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Exceptional written communication and public speaking abilities
- Valid Illinois driver's license
