Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes in compliance with Minnesota statutes
- Administer municipal elections, including voter registration, ballot preparation, and polling site coordination
- Oversee city business licensing and permit issuance processes
- Serve as the official custodian of the city seal and attestation of official documents
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely, accurate responses
- Provide legislative support to the City Council and advisory boards
- Develop and implement records management policies and retention schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Proficiency in Minnesota election laws and municipal governance procedures
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Advanced skills in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience managing public records requests under Minnesota Government Data Practices Act
