Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and council minutes
- Administer municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot preparation
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with Kansas open records laws
- Prepare council agendas, coordinate public hearings, and document proceedings
- Manage city seal certification, legal notices, and official document authentication
- Develop records retention policies and implement digital archiving systems
- Advise elected officials on parliamentary procedure and legislative compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- 5+ years municipal government or public sector experience
- Kansas Notary Public certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Expertise in records management systems and document automation
- Deep knowledge of Kansas open records laws and election protocols
- Exceptional written communication and document preparation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and government software platforms
