Responsibilities
- Safeguard official city records, ordinances, and resolutions with meticulous attention to detail
- Coordinate and document all City Council meetings, ensuring accurate minute-taking and compliance with open meeting laws
- Manage public record requests and document certification processes
- Oversee municipal elections administration and voter registration compliance
- Develop and implement records retention policies aligned with state regulations
- Serve as the primary liaison between city departments and the public for administrative inquiries
- Maintain the city's official seal and oversee document authentication procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Expert knowledge of Texas open records laws and municipal governance
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex projects
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Certification as Municipal Clerk (CMC) or Records Manager preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
