Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and preservation of all official city records, ordinances, and meeting minutes
- Manage public records requests ensuring timely and accurate responses per Georgia Open Records Act
- Prepare and certify municipal documents including contracts, resolutions, and proclamations
- Coordinate City Council agendas, hearings, and legislative documentation
- Supervise records management system and digital archiving processes
- Administer oaths of office and notary public services for city officials
- Ensure compliance with state and federal record-keeping regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years municipal/government records management experience
- Expertise in Georgia Open Records Act and municipal record retention laws
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase)
- Notary Public certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with public-facing experience
- Experience supervising records management teams preferred
