Responsibilities
- Manage, preserve, and provide access to official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes
- Oversee municipal elections and voter registration processes in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Prepare and certify legal documents, contracts, and administrative permits
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely, accurate responses
- Administer oaths of office and maintain official city seals and records
- Support City Council meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and documentation
- Implement records management systems and retention policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Strong knowledge of Tennessee open records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Tennessee Notary Public commission preferred
