Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and council proceedings with meticulous attention to detail
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and election administration processes
- Provide administrative support to the Detroit City Council including meeting coordination and documentation
- Ensure compliance with state election laws and municipal record-keeping regulations
- Coordinate public information requests and maintain public record accessibility
- Supplemental staff management and process optimization for clerk's office operations
- Act as official custodian of the city seal and authenticate municipal documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in municipal government or records management
- Michigan Election Administrator certification preferred
- Expertise in public records laws (FOIA) and municipal governance protocols
- Advanced proficiency with document management systems and municipal software
- Exceptional organizational skills with proven ability to manage complex projects
- Strong written/verbal communication and public presentation abilities
