Responsibilities
- Manage all municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot processes per state and federal regulations
- Oversee official city records, document preservation, and public information requests
- Administer oaths of office, maintain city council minutes, and coordinate public meetings
- Implement digital record-keeping systems while maintaining physical document security
- Coordinate with state agencies for compliance with election and record-keeping laws
- Lead public outreach initiatives to enhance civic participation and transparency
- Supervise clerical staff and manage departmental budget allocations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or election administration experience
- Michigan Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of Michigan Election Law and Freedom of Information Act
- Advanced proficiency in record management systems (e.g., CMS, RMS)
- Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong public speaking and community engagement abilities
- Valid Michigan driver's license and clean driving record
