Responsibilities
- Maintain and certify all official city ordinances, resolutions, and minutes
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with open records laws
- Oversee city elections and voter registration processes
- Administer oaths of office and serve as custodian of the city seal
- Coordinate with city council, mayor's office, and department heads
- Implement records management systems for long-term document preservation
- Prepare agendas for public meetings and ensure legislative accuracy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or records management experience
- Proficiency in records management software (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Thorough knowledge of Texas open records laws and municipal procedures
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
