Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, preservation, and accessibility of all official city records, ordinances, and minutes
- Manage municipal elections and voter registration processes with strict compliance to state laws
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure timely, accurate responses per Maryland Public Information Act
- Administer city boards and commissions appointments, including background checks and orientation
- Prepare and certify official documents including resolutions, contracts, and proclamations
- Develop and implement digital record-keeping systems to enhance public accessibility
- Serve as the primary liaison between City Council, Mayor's Office, and constituent inquiries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Expert knowledge of Maryland Public Information Act and election regulations
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint) and digital archiving
- Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated experience in drafting official documents
- Valid Maryland driver's license and ability to work extended hours during election periods
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with absolute discretion and integrity
