Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and council meeting documentation with meticulous precision
- Oversee public records requests and ensure compliance with North Carolina public records laws
- Coordinate logistics for City Council meetings, including agenda preparation and minute-taking
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Lead records management systems and digital archiving initiatives
- Serve as custodian of the city seal and official documents
- Advise elected officials on parliamentary procedure and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of municipal clerk or records management experience
- NC Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expert knowledge of NC public records laws and municipal regulations
- Advanced proficiency with records management software (e.g., Laserfiche)
- Exceptional written communication and document drafting skills
- Proven ability to manage high-volume public records requests
- Experience with election administration procedures
