- Serve as the official custodian of city records, ensuring secure storage and accessibility per California Public Records Act requirements
- Manage legislative processes including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and ordinance codification
- Oversee city elections, voter registration, and redistricting initiatives
- Coordinate public hearings and community engagement initiatives
- Implement records management systems and retention policies
- Provide administrative support to the City Council and Mayor's office
- Ensure compliance with municipal code and state regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with records management
- Expertise in California Public Records Act and Brown Act compliance
- Advanced proficiency in municipal software systems (e.g., Legistar, CivicClerk)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to procedural detail
- Valid California driver's license
- Professional certification (e.g., Municipal Clerk Institute) preferred
