Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal vehicles and specialized equipment for public works projects
- Perform inspections of infrastructure including roads, drainage systems, and parks
- Enforce municipal codes and regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Assist in emergency response operations during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Document field activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to coordinate public service initiatives
- Participate in community outreach programs to educate residents on municipal services
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of public works or construction experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physical labor
- Proficiency in GIS mapping software and digital reporting tools
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution abilities
- Knowledge of California environmental regulations and municipal policies
- Spanish bilingual proficiency highly desirable
