Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance of official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with absolute precision
- Manage public records requests and ensure compliance with Texas Public Information Act
- Coordinate agenda preparation and documentation for City Council and Board of Commissioners meetings
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes
- Lead records management initiatives including digital archiving and retention policies
- Provide procedural guidance to elected officials and department heads
- Facilitate public access to government information through online portals and in-person services
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public records management experience
- Expert knowledge of Texas open records laws and municipal governance protocols
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and integrity
- Experience coordinating public meetings and elections
