Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the official records of the City, including ordinances, resolutions, and minutes, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, packets, and official correspondence for the City Council and various boards.
- Serve as the official recording secretary for all municipal meetings, ensuring accurate documentation of proceedings.
- Oversee the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, ensuring timely and transparent responses to the public.
- Coordinate interdepartmental communications and act as the primary point of contact for civic inquiries.
- Supervise and train administrative staff within the Clerk’s office.
- Manage election-related activities, including voter registration and local ballot initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal administration, public records management, or a related field.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or Business Administration preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of Colorado state statutes regarding open meetings and public records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and records management software (e.g., Accela, OnBase).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional ethics.
