Responsibilities
- Safeguard and manage all official city records, ordinances, and public documents in compliance with Washington State RCW requirements
- Oversee municipal elections, including voter registration, ballot preparation, and certification processes
- Lead public records requests coordination with legal teams to ensure timely and accurate responses
- Administer city council meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and ordinance publication
- Develop and implement records management policies aligned with digital transformation initiatives
- Advise city departments on compliance with public disclosure laws and open meeting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Washington State Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Expertise in election administration and public records laws (RCW 42.56)
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated public speaking experience
