Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot management processes
- Manage and preserve official city records, ordinances, and legislative actions
- Administer oaths of office and serve as the city's official notary public
- Coordinate public records requests and ensure compliance with California Public Records Act
- Prepare City Council agendas, minutes, and maintain legislative history
- Manage municipal code updates and facilitate public review processes
- Lead public engagement initiatives for civic transparency initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public sector experience
- California Municipal Clerk certification or eligibility to obtain within 12 months
- Expert knowledge of California election law and public records regulations
- Advanced proficiency with records management systems and document automation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with public speaking experience
