Responsibilities
- Records Management: Manage and maintain the official City records, including minutes, resolutions, ordinances, and contracts, ensuring full compliance with state retention schedules.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare, distribute, and archive meeting agendas, packets, and minutes for the City Council, Boards, and Commissions.
- Public Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public, providing accurate information regarding municipal services, meeting schedules, and public records requests.
- Office Supervision: Oversee the daily operations of the Municipal Clerk’s Office, including supervision of support staff and coordination of office functions.
- Civic Events: Coordinate logistics for civic events, public hearings, and ceremonial functions, ensuring all protocols are followed.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree or higher in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support, records management, or a similar role within a government or corporate setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database management or specialized records software.
- Organization: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor when interacting with the public and elected officials.
