Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation, distribution, and archiving of official City Council meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions.
- Manage the City’s records management system, ensuring compliance with state retention schedules and public access laws.
- Coordinate all municipal elections, including voter registration drives, polling place logistics, and ballot certification processes.
- Process and respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and maintain strict adherence to transparency protocols.
- Act as the primary liaison between the City Council, staff, and the general public regarding administrative inquiries and official correspondence.
- Prepare and issue official proclamations, ordinances, and other municipal documents.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government, clerical administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with specialized government record-keeping software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread complex documents accurately under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
