As the City Clerk, you will serve as the chief administrative officer for the City Council, ensuring the integrity of public records and facilitating smooth government operations. Responsibilities
- Prepare, publish, and distribute official meeting agendas and minutes for City Council and Commission meetings.
- Maintain and preserve all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and contracts in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Administer oaths of office, certify documents, and manage the official use of the City seal.
- Assist the public with information requests, voter registration, and constituent services inquiries.
- Coordinate logistics for public meetings, including room setup and technology support.
- Oversee the filing of all legal notices and ensure compliance with statutory deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in municipal government, public administration, or an office administration role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management or government records software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with diverse community members and officials.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) regarding public records and meetings is a plus.
