Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including meeting minutes, resolutions, and ordinances.
- Handle incoming correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and public inquiries, with professionalism and accuracy.
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and informational packets for the City Council and various Boards.
- Assist in the administration of local elections, voter registration, and polling site management.
- Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding public records retention.
- Supervise and train clerical staff within the department to ensure high operational standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in an administrative, office support, or government-related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with record management software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear correspondence.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of municipal government procedures and parliamentary rules is a strong plus.
