Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and ballot compliance in accordance with state/federal regulations
- Administer oaths of office, public records requests, and document authentication services
- Coordinate city council agendas, public hearings, and legislative documentation
- Implement digital record management systems ensuring secure accessibility and retention policies
- Serve as primary liaison between city departments and the public regarding official documentation
- Lead compliance audits for record-keeping procedures and election integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience with records management
- Expert knowledge of Minnesota election laws, open records statutes, and municipal governance
- Proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, DocuWare) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong project management skills with ability to coordinate complex civic processes
- Exceptional written communication and public presentation abilities
- Valid Minnesota driver's license and ability to work occasional evenings/weekends
- Experience managing election cycles and public hearing logistics
