Responsibilities
- Manage official city records, ordinances, and council minutes with meticulous accuracy
- Oversee municipal elections, voter registration, and election compliance
- Administer oaths of office, public records requests, and document certification
- Coordinate with city departments to ensure regulatory compliance and policy implementation
- Serve as the primary liaison between the public and city government
- Manage budget for clerk's office and supervise administrative staff
- Prepare reports for city council and state regulatory agencies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or records management experience
- Deep knowledge of election laws, open records acts, and municipal governance
- Advanced proficiency in records management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Illinois Municipal Clerk certification or ability to obtain within 12 months
