Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records, including minutes, resolutions, and ordinances, ensuring compliance with state and local regulations.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail and correspondence to appropriate city departments and officials.
- Assist the public and city staff with inquiries regarding city procedures, meeting schedules, and available records.
- Prepare agendas, packets, and meeting minutes for City Council and Board meetings.
- Perform data entry and filing tasks with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors regarding official publications and notices.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of the City Clerk's office archives and historical records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in administrative support, clerical work, or government office settings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management systems.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to copyedit and proofread documents accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive city and citizen information.
- Basic knowledge of municipal government processes and public record laws is a plus.
