Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the official records of the City, ensuring accuracy and accessibility in compliance with legal standards.
- Prepare, distribute, and archive agendas, minutes, and resolutions for City Council and committee meetings.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and public disclosures.
- Oversee the administration of municipal elections and voter registration processes.
- Ensure strict adherence to open meeting laws and procedural bylaws.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of the Records Management and Clerical staff.
- Collaborate with department heads to streamline administrative workflows and document control.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in municipal government, clerical administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and document management software.
- Strong knowledge of California Public Records Act (CPRA) and open meeting laws.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for council meetings and special events.
