Responsibilities
- Record Management: Maintain and organize official city records, minutes, and legal documents with the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Public Assistance: Assist constituents with inquiries regarding ordinances, licenses, and city services in a professional and courteous manner.
- Data Entry: Perform high-volume data entry tasks using various computer systems and databases to ensure up-to-date records.
- Meeting Support: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and coordinate logistics for city council meetings and official hearings.
- Document Processing: Review, verify, and process applications, permits, and official correspondence according to established protocols.
- Voter Registration: Assist in the coordination and facilitation of voter registration activities within the community.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in office administration is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a municipal office, government agency, or a high-volume clerical role is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to learn new database software quickly.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to maintain precise records and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Availability: Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as required by city functions.
