Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, security, and management of all official city records and archived documents in compliance with legal standards.
- Coordinate and schedule City Council, Board, and Commission meetings, including drafting agendas, taking minutes, and publishing meeting packets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the public, providing accurate information regarding city ordinances, permits, and procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to state public records laws and confidentiality protocols.
- Manage correspondence, distribute official notices, and maintain the City’s filing systems efficiently.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations for the City Manager and Council members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in administrative support, records management, or government operations.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with database management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Texas open records laws and legislative procedures is a plus.
