Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of city documents, ordinances, and public filings.
- Provide exceptional customer service to citizens and city employees via phone, email, and in-person inquiries.
- Process, verify, and distribute incoming correspondence, reports, and applications efficiently.
- Perform high-speed data entry into the city's digital management systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Assist in the coordination of departmental schedules, meetings, and travel arrangements.
- Perform routine clerical duties, including photocopying, scanning, shredding, and filing.
- Support the department head with special projects and ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in business administration or related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in office administration, clerical work, or customer service within a government or corporate setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management software.
- Strong typing skills (40+ WPM) and a commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
