Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate heavy machinery and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect public infrastructure to identify safety hazards and structural issues.
- Ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and the public regarding work progress and project updates.
- Assist in traffic control and crowd management during city events or emergencies.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of daily work activities and materials used.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or landscaping is preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
