Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and specifications for accuracy and feasibility
- Issue permits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints and resolve code violations
- Provide technical guidance to project stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid California Driver's License
- ICBO or ICC certifications required
- Knowledge of California Building Codes and OSHA regulations
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse construction sites
